the Stringents: News

it has been a while....i'm so glad we have so many new shows coming up and I'm positive there are even more to be added!! :) So stay tuned!

Has it really been since 2006 since anyone has put in a journal entry? Needless to say, I think we have all been a little busy...getting married, having babies, and all kinds of other fun stuff!

The Stringents are back...and better than ever. We missed playing!! And we are super excited for our upcoming gigs...

Good times were had tonight as we helped to celebrate Hayley's graduation. Loved being there! Thanks for having us. And go Pokes!!

Man, just when I thought no one read the website...I looked at our comments and we had 3!!! I like it when you write a comment. Is lil' Laura my sister?? Hi Julie. Your comment about the wild crowd was a good one. And Carrie, a comment all the way from London!! Were you in London when you sent that?

Tonight we are playing for a private party...it is a graduation party. Go Hayley!!

Someone just sent me an email and asked why we never write in this journal. My answer. Because of the madly addictive land of MYSPACE!! Does anyone even use their webpages anymore? I know when I want to see if someone is playing a gig...I just hop on their myspace. And then 2 hours later...I can't blink my eyes, because I have been on the computer for so long.

Hmmmm. I had a birthday party for myself today. I will be 31. That is a good age.

Thanks to Becca and Jenn and Paula and Sarah and Robyn and Di and all of my wonderful friends that helped tune and sell flowers and were just there!

It was a great night...and now it is time to sit back and relax...and drink some coffee out of red cups tonight.

Friday night will be super cool. Because the Red Cup is super cool. If I can only survive my violin students concert Thursday evening...Friday night will be a breeze...

This is just a reminder that Friday nights show at the red cup is going to be way cool and everyone should come out!! we will be playing there from 8-10 and it will be up close and personal with the stringents!! i hope everyone can come out!!

Jenn, I know your body probably doesn't like it...but you are very productive when you don't sleep!!! I had like 5 emails from you the next morning. All very cool ideas!!

My friend Molly is in town this week. She is coming out to Galileo's tomorrow night for her first performance of the Stringents. Very exciting!!

its now 5:00 in the morning and i'm still not sleeping...i've been up since about 2:00....not sure what is wrong with me : ) but i did do something productive...i made posters for one of our upcoming shows!! thats exciting and i have another project that i'm going to get started on!! so thats it!! i'm off to sleep for about 30 minutes!!

Jenn, you are totally right. We NEVER write in this journal. I will commit if you will. The only problem though is the time is 5:08 on Wednesday evening...and I am supposed to be meeting you all at 5:30 at Nonna's. And I still haven't picked out an outfit!!!!

You would think we are all dead or no longer the coolest string quartet in the world....but you would be wrong!! : ) I'm going to try to start writing on this again so the world will know what we are up to!!

Alright, I got the hint. After the comments at rehearsal on Thursday and the remark in here, I will not be silent any more. Careful, you may have unleashed a monster. :) I'm going to take over the mic from Sarah at the next show. I'll be the one telling the great stories and making everyone laugh. Really, Sarah - you do such a great job keeping everyone entertained at our shows, I don't know how I could compete. It was fun watching the video of our Galileo's show on Thursday. Thanks Lisa for bringing that. You're awesome.

playing viola in a corset...try playing cello...i have to sit the entire night...i'm totally not going to be able to breath!!! and what if my cello hits it wrong...it breaks and i then owe a million $'s for a corset that can never be worn again : ) i'm thinking this is not a good thing...

last night was fun...not only rehearsal, which everytime makes me laugh a lot...but after rehearsal too...sarah, are we sure we figured out our problems...i woke up this morning a little confused : ) but hopefully some billy joel will be in the works for an upcoming show : ) btw...gena your not pregnant, just thought you'd like to know!!!
and we are dubbing you the honorary "honeybee" for the hornets game!!

P.S. One more thing. Jenn, I know you had a cold on January 23rd and the common cold usually only lasts up to 10 days...but the name of that cold stuff is Airborne. A teacher invented it. I have some...thanks to my sister, I mean Santa, who put it in my stocking for Christmas. Everyone go out and buy Airborne to fight your colds!!

Rehearsal went well tonight. I broke it to the girls that we are supposed to wear "ceramic corsets" at our February 19th art show. I told them they should do it because it is art. Right?! These corsets that this artist (Nicole Moan) makes are really cool...but I am trying to figure out how I would wear one and play the viola. Hmm.

Jenn and I went to an ultra trendy place tonight to take in some live music. In the meantime, we ended up solving all the worlds problems...or at least everything in our life. And we came up with some really cool ideas for the quartet. One idea involves Gena wearing a mullet. I think the crowd would really like that.

Saturday night was so much fun...thanks to everyone who came out...thanks to lisa for letting us play : ) thanks to laura and kevin for playing with us too.
i'm thinking we may need to change our name to the indigo girls though : )

I've changed our site...this time it was me : ) We have a web ghost who has been changing our layout for us...or one of us is just not admitting that they did it : ) I promise it wasn't me, last time.

I think i need OJ and some of that stuff that fights off colds before they show up...can't remember the name : ) i hope i'm not getting sick...

Gena...Riley is saying he wants a re-match maybe not at practice but sometime...we've been working out : )
