I teach orchestra at an elementary school in Oklahoma City. Yesterday I had 2 special guests visit my classroom...my sister Laura and a good friend of ours Sarah. I introduced them to my class of 1st graders and told the class that Sarah played the cello. And then I said "Can anyone spell cello?" 20 first graders raised their hand with much excitement...and every child I called on said "C-h-e-l-l-o"...

So thank you Laura and Sarah for coming to my class...and teaching us how to spell cello. (:

gena as i think about your poor naked rosin, i think of the good times it had, getting rubbed across the bow hairs, bringing about brillant music from your violin...it was loved, and will be remembered always : ( if rebecca does anything like that again...i know people, violinist are easy to replace : )

I am a little behind times when it comes to technology...but I finally got a wireless laptop!! This is very exciting. Because two of my favorite things to do in life are...coffee and internet. So yesterday, I spent 7 hours at Will's coffee shop. Today I was sick of both the internet and coffee.

Great practice tonight. I only wish that my rosin could share the same sentiments. It was a good life (before Rebecca ripped her from the only home she has ever known) So naked, so exposed. Ah, the two trials of a rosin's existance... cracking or having your cloth taken from you. We can only pray that the other fate never befalls my poor friend.

Girls, see you soon. I will now go cry myself to sleep.

i was just thinking about the cool new pictures we have on our page...sweet. I for one am excited to see more. I'm am also excited about tonights practice...its always so much fun. i think i may even practice for practice : ) i roll my eyes at myself.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, i know i did...and i wish everyone the brightest of new years. 2006 is going to be the best year yet....

I am back home in Tahlequah for Christmas. My days pretty much consist of sleeping in, stay in pjs/drink coffee until late morning, daily trips to Wal-Mart, games with the fam at night and then get up and do it all over again. Yes, you heard me right...in the Quah we at least make one trip a day to Wal-Mart. Laura, I am ready when you get here!!

It finally snowed! But not enough to cancel school...we will be thankful for this in June.

I taught lessons this morning and then sat in a coffee shop, ok, I admit...it was Starbucks...for nearly two hours this afternoon with Becca and Carrie. Watching the snow and covering all of our usual conversation topics. Good day!

i would also like it to snow...i hate wednesdays : ) but i also know that if it does snow and we do get out of school...we will have to make it up later...its really a toss up : )

It's finally winter! December is just around the corner. This is always a busy time of year playing Christmas gigs with our Classical groups. It's not Christmas unless we have performed the Messiah at least 3 times.

December 18th is the Stringents only show this month. Be sure to come check it out and we promise a few special performers will jump up on stage for a song or two...

Hey guys...i just want to say thanks to everyone for coming out last Friday night. It was awesome yet again to have so many people there to see us. I'm really excited about some of the new things we are going to try and the new songs we are adding. So come out and see us again. Theres no telling what we could do : )

I went to Galileos last night to see my friends band. I get there and someone comes up to me...aren't the stringents playing. No, i said, not until next week. I then went and talked to Craig, who books music, and he said he got his dates mixed up and hes just really excited to let everyone hear us. Very cool...its exciting that everyone is so excited.
Then the waiter noticed i was with the stringents and said that he had been telling everyone to come out next week and see us : )
Next week is going to be a great show...i've very excited..

Speaking of November...why is it still in the 80's!! My allergies are killing me and this weather does not help. Maybe I should be thankful for this beautiful day, but all I do is sneeze.

David Gray...We purchased the concert tickets, planned the road trip to Dallas, got in shopping mode...and then we got an email two days ago. "David Gray has canceled his Dallas show on Friday" NO!!! We were so bummed. David, we sincerely hope you get to feeling better...and we can't wait for you to reschedule.

The highlight of the night...looking out into the audience and seeing lighters...as everyone sang along to "Hey Jude"!! Now that was cool.
